Community Protection Distribution Initiative during the COVID-19 Period
In response to the urgent need for protection against COVID-19, the Ray of Joy Foundation had undertaken an initiative to distribute masks, face shields, and sanitis ers throughout Pune city.
With a comprehensive approach, the Foundation had covered various areas including slums, traffic police spots, police stations, and footpaths, ensuring widespread access to these essential resources.
Recognizing the vulnerability of marginalized communities, the Foundation's distributions in slums have played a crucial role in safeguarding the health of individuals living in densely populated areas. By providing masks, face shields, and sanitizers, the Foundation empowered community members to better protect themselves and others, reducing the risk of COVID-19 transmission.
We extended our distribution efforts to traffic police spots and police stations. These essential service providers face increased exposure to the virus while ensuring public safety. Equipping them with protective gear such as masks, face shields, and sanitisers not only enhanced their personal safety but also boosted their morale as they carried out their critical duties.
Additionally, recognizing the vulnerability of individuals residing on footpaths, the Foundation's distribution efforts extended to these areas as well. By reaching out to those who may not have access to traditional housing or healthcare facilities, the Foundation ensured that everyone, regardless of their circumstances, has access to crucial protective resources.
